Venerdì – Qualifiche 1ª sessione

Condizioni meteo alquanto sconcertanti hanno compromesso le sessioni di oggi che si sono svolte sul circuito di Magny Cours, Francia. Come altri team, anche Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse ha preferito non far scendere in pista i suoi piloti per la sessione di prove libere del mattino, mentre le qualifiche del pomeriggio sono state pregiudicate dal maltempo che ha portato anche la grandine.

Nonostante i pochi giri effettuati, Regis Laconi si dichiara soddisfatto della sua ZX-10R che sembra non presenti particolari problematiche su questo tracciato.

Il suo compagno di squadra Makoto Tamada, scende su questo circuito per la prima volta e sfrutta la giornata, per quanto gli è possibile viste le condizioni sfavorevoli di pista, per studiare e riportare informazioni relative al tracciato francese alla sua squadra.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ Ho preferito non scendere in pista questa mattina viste le condizioni meteo perché conosco molto bene questo circuito per cui era inutile per me rischiare di danneggiare la moto o peggio di farmi male.

La ZX-10R si comporta abbastanza bene, peccato che un problema alla frizione mi abbia costretto a rientrare ai box poco prima che cominciasse a piovere e, nonostante i tecnici siano riusciti a risolverlo, abbiamo nuovamente deciso di non rientrare in pista e terminare la prova, come tutti gli altri piloti. Spero che domani il tempo sia più favorevole per permetterci di raggiungere risultati migliori”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Questo è un altro circuito che affronto per la prima volta e purtroppo il maltempo non mi ha permesso di sfruttare a pieno la giornata. Sicuramente domani mi concentrerò sullo studio e sulla dinamica del tracciato mentre la mia squadra, continuerà a sviluppare un set-up adeguato a questa pista in base al mio stile di guida per poter così raggiungere prestazioni ottimali”.

Domenica – Gare

Una strabiliante gara 1 sul circuito francese di Magny Cours per il pilota Regis Laconi del team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse che, nonostante partisse dalla penultima fila in griglia di partenza, è riuscito a lottare fino alla fine, portando a casa 5 punti con l’11a posizione conquistata.

Meno positivo il risultato di gara 2 dove, dopo una buona partenza, a pochi giri dall’inizio, esce di pista per evitare di centrare Bauer che cade davanti a lui . Il pilota francese rientra subito con la sua ZX-10R ma non riesce a recuperare le posizioni ormai perse.

Meno performante la prestazione del suo compagno di squadra nipponico Makoto Tamada che raggiunge due 18e piazze, mentre Ayrton Badovini realizza il 16° posto in gara 1 ed il 17° nella seconda manche.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ Arrivare in 11a piazza partendo dalla sesta fila in griglia di partenza non è stato facile. Ancora più difficile è stato tentare di recuperare le posizioni perse in gara 2 dopo essere uscito di pista per cui, non potendo fare di più, mi sono concentrato per finire la gara. Resta ancora un round alla fine del campionato che si disputerà a Portimao, un circuito nuovo, per cui sarà una sorpresa per tutti”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ E’ stato un week end sfortunato per me e la mia squadra perché le condizioni meteo non mi hanno permesso di sfruttare il tempo a disposizione come avrei voluto. Sono state due gare davvero difficili fisicamente in quanto la difficoltà nei cambi di direzione mi hanno portato via molta energia per riuscire a mantenere le traiettorie. Ci attende l’ultimo round che sarà sul nuovissimo tracciato di Portimao e devo dire che sono davvero curioso di vederlo sperando che il tempo sia favorevole nonostante il round si disputerà in novembre”.

Sunday – Races

LACONI SPRINGS FROM THE 6TH ROW AND CONQUERS THE 11TH PLACEMENT

Regis Laconi of Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse made a great race 1 on the French track in Magny Cours where he started from the 6th row from the grid and reached the 11th position taking home 5 points.

Less positive the results he achieved in race 2 where he made a good start but after few laps from the beginning he went out of the track loosing lots of positions to avoid to hit Bauer who crashed just in front of him.

It has been a difficult week end for his team mate Makoto Tamada who reached two 18th placements while Ayrton Badovini achieved the 16th in race 1 and the 17th in the second manche.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ It hasn’t been so simple to conquer the 11th placement considering that I started from the next to last row. Even more difficult it has been to recover the lost positions in race 2 after I went out of the track. I couldn’t do better so I focused on finishing the race. There’s still a round to the end of the championship and it will be disputed at the new track in Portimao. It will be a surprise for everyone”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ It has been an unlucky week end for me and my team as the unfavorable weather conditions didn’t permit us to take fully advantage of the time we had at our disposal.  I battled to finish both the races as I couldn’t do nothing more, the bike had still some problems in changing direction and this took my a lot of energies to maintain the trajectories.  Next month we’ll be in Portimao for the last round of the season. I’m quite curious to see the new track and I really hope that the weather will be clement even if it will be November”.

Sabato – Superpole

Partiranno dalla sesta fila i piloti del team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse che concludono questa seconda giornata di qualifiche sul circuito francese di Magny Cours in 21a e 22a posizione.

Il problema principale riscontrato nella mattinata è dovuto alle condizioni della pista che, nonostante il sole,  non si è asciugata rendendo rischioso il tracciato.

Regis Laconi ha migliorato il proprio tempo ma non è riuscito ad abbassarlo abbastanza per poter partecipare alla Superpole mentre, il suo compagno di squadra Makoto Tamada ha continuato a studiare il tracciato per migliorare le traiettorie in previsione di gara.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ Come sospettavo nonostante il tempo fosse decisamente migliore rispetto a ieri, le basse temperature non hanno permesso alla pista di asciugarsi e questo ha inciso molto sulle mie prestazioni.

Rispetto a ieri ho abbassato il mio tempo ed  ho continuato a migliorarmi durante l’intera sessione. Se solo avessi avuto a disposizione altri 10 minuti sono convinto che sarei riuscito a partecipare alla Superpole.

Nelle prove libere del pomeriggio sono ulteriormente migliorato ed alla fine del turno stavo girando a solo qualche decimo dai primi.

Domani l’obbiettivo è di riuscire a mantenere il ritmo raggiunto oggi sperando che le condizioni climatiche non compromettano nuovamente le mie prestazioni”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Oggi sono riuscito a sfruttare solamente la sessione di prove libere del pomeriggio a causa delle condizioni di pista davvero sfavorevoli del mattino.

Ci siamo concentrati sulla scelta delle gomme oltre che allo studio del comportamento della moto su questo tracciato. Ho acquistato maggior sicurezza, devo solo migliorare le traiettorie in alcuni punti dove ancora ho qualche difficoltà.

Partirò dalla sesta fila domani per cui sarà molto importante per me fare una buona partenza per recuperare qualche posizione sin dall’inizio”.

Saturday – Superpole

The Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team’s riders reached the  21st and 22nd positions today and they will start from the 6th row tomorrow from the grid at the French circuit in Magny Cours.

The main problem of the morning was due to the wet track that hasn’t dried because of the low temperature making the circuit very risky.

Regis Laconi improved a lot but not enough to be able to participate to the Superpole while his team mate Makoto Tamada continued to study the track to improve the trajectories for the races.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ As I thought the low temperature of the morning didn’t permit to the track to dry and this weighted on my performances. I improved compared to yesterday but not enough. If I just had ten minutes more I’m sure I could participate to the Superpole.

I improved further on during the afternoon and at the end of the session I reduced the gap from the best of just few tenths.

The goal of tomorrow will be to maintain the rhythm during the whole races hoping that the weather conditions won’t  continue to compromise my performances”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Today I made a good use just of the afternoon’s session as the track conditions were too unfavorable during the morning’s session.

We focused on the tyre’s choice together with the bike’s behavior on this track. I reached a good feeling with the track except for some points where I still have to improve the trajectories.

I’ll start from the 6th row tomorrow from the grid so it will be very important for me to make a good start and recover some positions from the beginning”.

Friday – Qualifying 1st session

Stunning weather conditions compromised today’s session at Magny Cours track, France. As lots of teams, even Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team preferred to avoid its riders to dispute this morning’s session and the qualifying session of the afternoon has been compromised by the terrible weather that brought the hail too.

In spite of the few laps done, Regis Laconi declares to be satisfied of his ZX-10R which doesn’t show any particular problem on this track.

His team mate Makoto Tamada face this track for the first time and use the few time he had today to study and give information regarding the circuit to his team.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ This morning I preferred to not participate to the free practice session as I didn’t want to risk any crash. I know very well this circuit so it was not necessary to take the risk. During the qualifying session of the afternoon I had a problem with the clutch and I’ve been oblige to return to the pit garage. Unfortunately when the technicians solved it, it started to rain a lot and we decided to conclude there the session as a lot of other riders. Anyway the ZX-10R behaves quite good on this track and I hope that the weather will be more clement tomorrow in order to reach good performances”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ This is another track that I face for the first time and unfortunately the weather didn’t give me the chance to take full advantage of the time at my disposal today to study the track in a proper way.

Tomorrow  I’ll continue to focus on the study and the dynamics of the circuit and my team will continue to develop an adequate set-up of the bike for this circuit and my guide style”.
