Friday – Qualifying 1st session

The first day of qualifying session has been disputed on wet track’s conditions but Regis Laconi of Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team has not been refrained by the rain and obtained the 7th placement in the free practice session of the morning and the 9th in the qualifying session. Two good results considering the difficult period the team had to face in this last period.

Makoto Tamada faced this track for the first time and reached the 17th position in the free practice session. He is really satisfied of the ZX-10R’s performances and he’s sure to be able to reach better results with dry track’s conditions.

The young rider Ayrton Badovini made a great performance too conquering the 12th place in the free practices and the 18th in the qualifying session and demonstrating the competitiveness of a champion.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ I’m really glad about the job the whole team did to improve the ZX-10R performances. Now I can dare more even on wet track’ s conditions and I can start to focus on speediness. We worked on the suspensions to give more stability to the front of the bike and we obtained a good result.

Now we’ll focus on the rear to reduce  the light movement I feel. I hope tomorrow it will be a sunny day ‘cause I want to improve the result achieved today”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Together with Regis I feel a great improvement of the bike’s performances and the feeling achieved gave me the possibility to study in a proper way the track which I consider really interesting  from a first approach.

I’m sorry for what happened in the qualifying session where the 2 crashes I did compromised my result.

Everyone say that it will be sunny tomorrow so I’m sure I’ll have the chance to improve the performances achieved today”.

Una giornata agrodolce per il team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse che vede i suoi piloti, Regis Laconi e Makoto Tamada, posizionarsi rispettivamente in 16a e 20a piazza in gara 1 ed in 9a e 19a  nella seconda manche, sul circuito di Vallelunga, Roma.

Il pilota francese del team di San Marino si dichiara alquanto soddisfatto dei risultati ottenuti e ringrazia la squadra per il grande supporto ed impegno dimostrato,  per portare la moto alle condizioni ottimali per il suo stile di guida.

Meno soddisfatto il suo compagno di squadra Makoto Tamada che non raggiunge ancora la competitività che vorrebbe dimostrare.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ Finalmente una giornata positiva dopo un periodo alquanto difficile per il team. In gara 1 ho fatto una buona partenza ma, dopo qualche giro,  ho cominciato a riaccusare il chattering che fino a ieri sembrava averci dato tregua. Da quel momento  è stato difficile riuscire a seguire le traiettorie di curva in quanto la moto tendeva ad allargare davvero tanto.

Al termine della 1a manche, la squadra si è subito messa all’opera per rimediare all’inconveniente andando ad intervenire sulle sospensioni ed in gara 2, la moto era molto migliorata permettendomi di arrivare 9° e di portare a casa 7 punti”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Non sono certamente soddisfatto dei risultati ottenuti in questo week end. Abbiamo provato a migliorare il feeling con la moto testando diverse soluzioni ma non abbiamo avuto un riscontro molto positivo. Ciò che maggiormente compromette i miei risultati è il mancato feeling con l’anteriore che non mi permette di essere competitivo quanto vorrei.

In gara 2 sono partito abbastanza bene ed il feeling con la ZX-10R era migliorato rispetto gara 1. Purtroppo l’incidente tra Biaggi e Sofuoglu ha reso nullo il mio intento di risalire alcune posizioni in quanto tantissimo olio è finito sulla mia moto. Ho tentato comunque di finire la gara mantenendo un ritmo costante e raggiungendo la 19a posizione”.

Sunday – Races

A sweet sour day for the Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team that takes home 7 points on the Italian track in Vallelunga.

Regis Laconi and his team mate Makoto Tamada reach respectively the 16th and 20th placement in race 1 and the 9th and 19th positions in race 2.

The French rider of the team based in San Marino is satisfied of the results achieved today and he thanks the whole team for the great support and engagement  everyone demonstrated until now to solve the problems.

His team mate  Makoto Tamada is not as satisfied as him cause he still cannot show the competitiveness he would like to demonstrate.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ In race 1 I made a quite good start but after few laps I began to accuse the chattering that until yesterday it seamed to be disappeared. Because of the chattering I really had difficulties to follow the proper trajectory in the bends.

Between race 1 and race 2 the whole team worked really well to solve the problem by making the rear shock less rigid and it helped a lot making easier to manage the bike in race 2 where I reached the 9th position. I’m really glad for this result as the team really deserved it after all the great job they did and still do”.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “  I just want to forget this week end as it has been really difficult to accept the achieved results. I still don’t have a good feeling with the bike, especially with the front. We tried to reduce this problem by changing the pressure of the tyre but it didn’t help so I tried just to finish the race.

In the 2nd  manche I made quite a good start but after the crash between Biaggi and Sofuoglu,   I’ve been flooded by the oil and I lost control for a while loosing positions which I’ve been not able to regain during the race. It’s a pity because the feeling with the bike was better then in race 1”.

Sabato – Superpole

Si è appena conclusa la seconda giornata di qualifiche per il team di San Marino Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse, sul circuito di Vallelunga, Roma, dove il pilota francese Regis Laconi, in condizioni di pista più favorevoli rispetto a ieri, conquista il 15° tempo in Superpole e domani partirà dalla 4a fila in griglia di partenza.

Meno soddisfatto della sua performance è il pilota nipponico Makoto Tamada che continua ad avere problematiche nei cambi di direzione soprattutto nei tratti più veloci del circuito a causa del peso della moto.

Il lavoro del team continua per permettere ad entrambi i piloti di raggiungere un feeling che li riporti alla competitività di cui sono capaci.

FRANCESCO MASTRANDREA (Direttore Tecnico): “ Il problema principale riscontrato su questo circuito deriva fondamentalmente dal peso della moto che impedisce ai piloti cambi di direzione rapidi soprattutto nei punti più veloci del tracciato.

Ciò nonostante, siamo soddisfatti di alcuni passi avanti ottenuti. La nuova gomma Pirelli, con la carcassa più rigida, ha dato ottimi risultati sulla ZX-10R ottimizzando le sue prestazioni. Rispetto alla precedente stagione non accusiamo più il chattering che ci perseguitava e le ultime prove eseguite sulle geometrie dell’avantreno hanno avuto effetti positivi sulle nostre derivate di serie”.

Venerdì – Qualifiche 1ª sessione

La prima giornata di qualifiche sul circuito di Vallelunga, Roma, si disputa sotto l’acqua che però non frena Regis Laconi, dalla sua netta ripresa. Il pilota francese del team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse ottiene infatti da questa prima giornata di qualifiche la 7a posizione nella sessione del mattino e la 9a  nella sessione del pomeriggio, due buone piazze considerando le problematiche che il team ha dovuto affrontare nell’ultimo periodo.

Makoto Tamada scende su questo tracciato per la prima volta e raggiunge la 17a posizione nelle prove libere del mattino. Soddisfatto delle prestazioni della ZX-10R è fiducioso di poter ottenere risultati migliori in condizioni di pista più favorevoli.

Ottime anche le prestazioni del giovane Ayrton Badovini che si piazza 12° nelle prove libere e 18° nelle qualifiche dimostrando di avere la competitività di un campione.

REGIS LACONI #55: “ Sono davvero contento perché il lavoro svolto assieme al team ha migliorato tantissimo le prestazioni della mia ZX-10R rispetto a Donington. Ora anche su condizioni di pista come quelle odierne posso permettermi di osare di più e puntare alla velocità. Siamo intervenuti sulle sospensioni per dare più stabilità sull’anteriore ottenendo un buon risultato.

Ora interverremo sul posteriore per limitare il leggero movimento che si è presentato dopo le ultime variazioni effettuate. Spero che domani migliori il tempo come previsto e che riusciremo ad ottenere risultati ancora più performanti.

MAKOTO TAMADA #100: “ Come Regis anch’io sento un forte miglioramento della moto. Il feeling acquistato mi ha permesso di girare tanto nella sessione di prove libere del mattino e di studiare così questo tracciato che da un primo approccio reputo molto interessante.

Mi dispiace per le qualifiche del pomeriggio dove sono caduto al primo giro compromettendo il mio risultato. Dopo la caduta sono rientrato in pista ma dopo soli due giri sono stato scaraventato a terra da un highside.  Per domani è prevista una giornata di sole per cui sono sicuro di poter sfruttare ancora di più le prestazioni ritrovate della moto”.
