Alla fine del 4° round sul circuito olandese di Assen, il team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse porta a casa punti importanti con la grande performance di Makoto Tamada che si classifica 8° in gara 1 e  9° in gara 2. Il pilota nipponico è riuscito in entrambe le manches  a partire con decisione ed a mantenere costante il buon ritmo di gara raggiunto dimostrando la sua determinazione di pilota. Più difficile la situazione di Regis Laconi tormentato fisicamente e psicologicamente dal chattering che gli impedisce di affrontare con decisione e sicurezza le curve.

Makoto Tamada: “ La soddisfazione maggiore è stato poter terminare entrambe le gare dove ho fatto due buone partenze ed ho recuperato da subito qualche posizione. E’ stata davvero dura riuscire a mantenere il ritmo a causa di alcuni problemi con il posteriore. Di certo aspiro a più di un ottava o una nona posizione ma stiamo procedendo su una buona strada che pian piano sta portando i suoi risultati. Questa gara è stata per noi la conferma che il set-up di base testato a Jerez è quello giusto, ora procederemo affrontando passo per passo le variabili che dobbiamo affinare.

Regis Laconi: “ Sarò ripetitivo ma nonostante i miei sforzi non sono riuscito a dare di più. Per il mio stile di guida al momento la moto è difficile da gestire e questo a causa del chattering che continua a perseguitarmi non appena cambiano anche minimamente le condizioni di pista. Mi dispiace soprattutto perché in gara 1 sono partito bene ed avrei potuto raggiungere una posizione migliore, un traguardo che la squadra merita davvero per il lavoro svolto e per il supporto che mi sta dando. Valuteremo altre soluzioni per la gara di Monza che ci aspetta e darò il massimo per regalare punti importanti al team”.

Sabato – Qualifiche 2ª sessione - Superpole

Risultati incoraggianti per il team sammarinese Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse che, ad un solo giorno dal 4° round che si disputerà domani sul circuito olandese di Assen, vedrà i suoi piloti schierati entrambi in 3 fila sulla griglia di partenza.

Il grande feeling di Makoto Tamada con la sua ZX-10R ha reso possibile il risultato ottenuto, il pilota nipponico del team sammarinese Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse si rivela molto soddisfatto sia per le prestazioni conseguite in Superpole, che per il ritmo rimasto costante in entrambi le sessioni della giornata. Le modifiche apportate oggi sulla ZX-10R del pilota giapponese si sono limitate all’aerodinamica interna della moto attraverso piccoli ritocchi alla carenatura ed il lavoro si è concentrato sulla scelta delle Pirelli da utilizzare per le gare di domani.

Soddisfatto anche il francese Regis Laconi che nonostante un inizio di giornata poco promettente, è riuscito attraverso il  grande lavoro del team, a raggiungere un buon risultato ed ad aumentare il feeling con la sua moto. Il forcellone Steve Harris rinforzato ha limitato il problema del chattering e Regis, più sicuro in sella alla ZX-10R ha completato il lavoro della sua squadra facendo segnare l’ 11° tempo.

Makoto Tamada #100: “ Praticamente oggi la moto non è stata toccata in quanto risponde molto bene al mio stile di guida, abbiamo solo voluto aumentarne l’aerodinamicità attraverso piccoli accorgimenti sulla carena. Sono davvero fiducioso in previsione della gara soprattutto perché in entrambe le sessioni di oggi ho mantenuto un ritmo costante. Abbiamo scelto di adottare una gomma morbida sull’anteriore e dura sul posteriore e credo proprio che domani riuscirò a regalare belle sensazioni a tutti i miei fans”.

Regis Laconi #55: “ Partire primo in Superpole non è mai facile in quanto non si hanno riferimenti dati dagli altri piloti ma sono soddisfatto del risultato che ho ottenuto considerando che, dopo la caduta di ieri, la squadra ha praticamente dovuto ricostruire la moto durante la notte. Stamattina abbiamo montato il forcellone Steve Harris rinforzato e devo dire che seppur non elimini del tutto il chattering, lo allevia tanto ed ora non mi impensierisce più tanto in quanto abbastanza sotto controllo.  Abbiamo valutato la scelta delle gomme per domani ed abbiamo infine deciso di utilizzare gomme dure sia per l’anteriore che posteriore”.

Saturday – Qualifying 2nd session – Superpole

Encouraging results for the team of San Marino Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse which will see its riders starting from the third row tomorrow on the Dutch track in Assen where the 4th round will take place.

The result achieved by Makoko Tamada has been possible as he found a great feeling with his bike  and he is really satisfied both for the performances obtained today in the Superpole and the rhythm that he could maintain during the whole sessions of the day. The only adjustments made on the bike have been limited to the aerodynamic through small changements on the fairings. The work today focused on tyre choice for tomorrow’s races.

Regis Laconi is satisfied too, considering that the day didn’t begin so well for him he anyway reached a good result and he gained a good feeling with his ZX-10R. The Steve Harris’s reinforced swing arm limited the chattering and Regis felt more confident and he finished his team’s work scoring the 11th time.

Makoto Tamada #100: “ We almost didn’t touch the bike today as it fits my guide style. We just made some small adjustments on the fairing to make it a bit more aerodynamic. I’m quite confident for tomorrow as I’ve maintained a good race pace during the whole sessions. We decided to put  a soft tyre on the front and a durable one on the rear and I think tomorrow I’ll be able to give good emotions to my fans”.

Regis Laconi #55: “ Starting first at the Superpole is never easy as you don’t have any referent from the others riders but I have to tell to be satisfied for the result achieved considering that after yesterday’s crash my team had to reconstruct the bike during the night. From this morning we used a reinforced Steve Harris swing arm that takes under control the chattering I use to accuse and now I feel more confident. We valued which tyre option to adopt for tomorrow and at the end we decided to use a hard tyre both for the front and the rear”.

Venerdì – Qualifiche 1ª sessione

Una giornata fruttuosa per il team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse in questa prima prova di qualifiche sul circuito olandese TT di Assen sul quale Makoto Tamada è stato artefice di una  grande prestazione concludendo la 1a sessione di qualifiche in 6a posizione.

Il pilota nipponico ha raggiunto un buon feeling con la sua ZX-10R grazie al buon set up definito sulle sospensioni,  e con i piccoli  accorgimenti apportati durante la sessione di prove libere della mattinata ha ulteriormente migliorato questo feeling.

Giornata più dura per Regis Laconi che ha visto svanire le sue speranze a causa di una brutta caduta che anche lui non riesce a spiegarsi.

Makoto Tamada: “ Sono davvero soddisfatto della giornata. Il set up utilizzato mi da grande sicurezza per cui ora spingere è davvero divertente. Oggi ci siamo concentrati molto sulla scelta delle gomme da utilizzare in ottica di gara e siamo riusciti a svolgere un ottimo lavoro visto il ritmo mantenuto durante tutta la sessione. Purtroppo le tante cadute e l’interruzione quasi a fine prova hanno frenato le mie prestazioni ma son convinto che potrò ancora migliorarmi prima di domenica”.

Regis Laconi: “ Non so davvero come spiegarmi  questa caduta, è vero che ho accusato tanto il chattering, ma in quella curva ho solamente scalato e la moto mi ha disarcionato. Per il mio stile di guida questa moto è molto difficile da gestire ma confido nel lavoro del team che è già all’opera per sistemarla. Inoltre domani scenderemo in pista con un forcellone  Steve Harris originale rinforzato nel quale confido per una maggiore stabilità e rigidità per sopperire al problema di chattering”.

Friday – Qualifying 1st session

A positive day for Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team during the first qualifying session at TT  dutch circuit in Assen where Makoto Tamada has been  protagonist of a great performance and reached the 6th position.

The Japanese rider reached a good feeling with his ZX-10R thanks to the set up defined on suspensions. Besides the adjustments effectuated during morning’s free practices, have improved the feeling even more.

Difficult day for Regis Laconi  that saw his hopes vanishing because of a bad crash that he cannot explain.

Makoto Tamada #100: “ I’m really satisfied of the day. The set up found out gives me more confidence and pushing hard has become extremely amusing. Today we focused on tyre choice and we have been able to make a great job considering that  I maintained the rhythm for the whole session. Unfortunately the red flag and all the crashed limited my performances but I’m sure I can improve more before Sunday”.

Regis Laconi #55: “ I don’t know how to explain me this crash even to myself. It is true that I was accusing a lot the chattering but in that bend I was just shifting down and the bike just unsaddled me. This bike is difficult to be managed with my guide’s style but I trust in the team which is already working on my ZX-10R. Besides tomorrow I’ll try a new Steve Harris reinforced swing arm which will give me more stability and rigidity to solve the chattering problem”.

At the end of the forth round at the dutch circuit in Assen the Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse team brings home important points thanks to Makoto Tamada’s great performance. The Japanese rider classifies 8th in race 1 and 9th in race 2 maintaining for the whole races the good race pace achieved after two good starts demonstrating his determination as rider. More difficult Regis Laconi’s situation as he has been physically and mentally conditioned by the chattering that makes him unable to face with decision and confidence the bends.

Makoto Tamada: “ The real satisfaction has been to conclude both races where I did two good starts and I gained position from the beginning. It has been extremely difficult to maintain the pace because of some problems with the rear. Of course I expect something more than an 8th and a 9th position but we are proceeding on a good path which is bringing results. This round has been for us a confirmation that the basic set-up tested in Jerez is the right one, now we will face step by step the items we have to get better.

Regis Laconi: “ I can seem repetitive but although my efforts I couldn’t make more than this. At the moment the bike is difficult to be managed considering my guide style as  the chattering continues to disturb me as soon as track conditions change. I’m  really upset because I could have done better in race 1 as I made a good start. This is not what the team deserve after all the hard work it made and for all the support all the guys are giving to me. We will value different solutions to adopt for Monza round and I’ll do my best in order to give important points to the team”.

Una giornata da dimenticare

Il team Kawasaki PSG-1 Corse sicura delle proprie possibilità rimane attonita davanti alla serie di sfortunate vicissitudini che bloccano le potenzialità dimostrate durante le qualifiche più che soddisfacenti dei giorni scorsi.

In gara 1 dopo una buona partenza, dei problemi tecnici al motore costringono il pilota francese Regis Laconi a rientrare ai box dopo pochi giri dall’inizio lasciandogli l’amaro in bocca. Buona partenza anche per Makoto Tamada che quasi al termine della gara spinge troppo per guadagnare posizioni nonostante la perdita di grip dell’anteriore che alla fine lo tradisce e finisce a terra.

In gara 2 la situazione è analoga ma stavolta è Regis Laconi a cadere mentre Makoto Tamada rientra ai box.

L’unica soddisfazione in casa Kawasaki viene regalata da Ayrton Badovini del team Pedercini che si guadagna meritatamente la 9a posizione in gara 2.

Regis Laconi: “ Siamo stati davvero sfortunati. In gara 1 sono dovuto rientrare ai box per un guasto tecnico mentre in gara 2 ho voluto spingere troppo per regalare una buona posizione al team e ci stavo riuscendo. Infatti prima di cadere giravo a quasi mezzo secondo più veloce del gruppo davanti e stavo per recuperare alcune posizioni. Peccato davvero perché avremmo potuto realizzare qualcosa di molto positivo”.

Makoto Tamada: “ Mi son fatto prendere dall’ ansia in gara 1 in quanto avevo appena sorpassato Troy Corser ma lo sentivo molto vicino per cui ho cercato di staccarlo con troppo brio e mi sono ritrovato a terra. In gara 2 invece il problema è stato che, nonostante avessimo riempito sino all’orlo il serbatoio, in quanto consapevoli che su questo tracciato la moto consuma tanto, mi sono ritrovato a secco. Non c’è che dire se non che sono cose che capitano. Abbiamo fatto il possibile ma in questo mestiere gli inconvenienti capitano malgrado il duro lavoro e la capacità e professionalità della squadra”.
